My WUW Highlights

As I announced on Monday, I am putting this blog on hold for a while so I can focus on other things. So I wanted to spend this time reminiscing about all the fun things I got to experience over the last year and a half.

First up is was my invitation to a taping of Steven and Chris. The audience was made up of all bloggers and we got the royal experience! Not only did we get to see the show, we got a special Q & A session with the boys and a catered lunch afterwards!

An absolutely awesome day!

Next up, was the first Canadian Design Bloggers Meet Up.

This was the first time, all us bloggers were together in a social situation. I've said it before, but it's an incredible feeling to be in a room full of women with the same hobbies and interests as you. The conversation is never dull and it's always a great source of inspiration.

Here's my buddy, Renee and I, enjoying the par-tay.

My next favourite experience was being invited to media preview of the 2011 Interior Design Show.

This is where I got to be up close and personal with some of my face celebs (see Arren Williams in that photo with the orange hard hat??)

I was way too freaked out to talk to Sarah Richardson, but I did hang out with her brother Theo for an afternoon, which was really cool (we have a mutual friend!). And I couldn't help getting a picture with...

The one and only Tommy Smythe! Another awesome day!

Next up was the media breakfast for the One of a Kind Show that I got myself, and about a dozen other bloggers invited to - it doesn't hurt to ask right!!

Once again, I was star struck. There's Arren Williams again and can you also see Michael Penney? . He was working for Canadian House and Home at the time, but now he is actually working for Sarah Richardson!!

And lastly, my Cityline experience.

Once again, I was invited to a taping of a show and, again, the audience were all women bloggers.

But this time, we were all surprised with a tweet-up after the show at the brand new Ritz-Carlton!! CityLine really did a bang up job wining and dining us! Literally, the wine and cocktails were flowing! Another amazing experience.

Looking back, it's pretty cool to think about all the fun things I've got to take part in, in such a short period of time. Blogging has opened so many doors for me and has been such an important part of my life since I started back in April 2010.

My advice to anyone who is thinking of starting a blog is, DO IT! It doesn't hurt to try, and just remember that it always starts off slow, but if you keep at it and are passionate, great things will happen!!

Don't forget to enter my last giveaway. I pick the winner on Friday.

An Announcement...And a Giveaway!

Well folks, I am leaving WUW for a while....and I don't know when or if I will be back.

Now, I have not come to this decision lightly. It took quite a few months to come to the conclusion that I just can't put my all into WUW anymore.  Posting has been been sparse for the last few months because I have had a lot of changes in my life - a new job, a new business venture - and I just can't keep up with posting for WUW and Hoopla.

So, I am going to focus all my efforts on Hoopla, with my buddy Robin, and hopefully you all will follow along.  Hoopla is a lot like WUW and we post everyday, so there's always new and fresh content.

I just want to take this time to thank you so much for being there for me here, everyday.  I have learned so much and have met so many amazing people...which is why I am having a giveaway for my last week on WUW!!!

Lulu and Drew, an up and coming artist from Vancouver has very kindly offered up 1 x 11'x14' Canvas Confetti Painting for you in Turquoise.

Isn't she pretty??

All you need to do to enter is:

For an extra entry, like @luluanddrew on Twitter!

That's it!!

You have until Friday to enter.  I will be announcing the winner on my last post on Friday :(

And look for some nostalgic posts this week about my favourite posts and favourite memories with WUW.

Fete Friday - Style Me Pretty Magazine

The biggest and best wedding blog, Style Me Pretty, have come out with their annual "Best Weddings" online magazine, and let me tell you, it's a doozy!

You know I'm just a sucker for events, so I ate up every page of this magazine.

So, if you have some time today or this weekend, hang out on the couch and give it a read over.

As for this weekend, we are finally taking down our Christmas stuff in the house and I'm really looking forward to it.  I have had enough of the pine needles that are being dragged around the house!

I'm also going to check out my parents' new condo that they will be moving into in March - they will no longer live right around the corner from me :(

And, I am going wedding colour shopping with my bride-to-be sister, Caitie.  She is letting all the bridesmaids choose their own dresses and she has chosen a range of pinks, but no one really knows what the range is. So, we are going to fabric shops and getting samples, so that every bridesmaid has their own little colour swatch for when they go shopping! Fun!

Have an awesome weekend!

And stay tuned for an announcement and a giveaway on Monday :)

I Could Live Here: Converted Tin Chapel

I've always dreamed of living in a converted anything.  Whatever it is, it usually has character and my weakness, exposed brick.

Although this converted tin chapel in England doesn't have any exposed brick (that I can see), it makes up for it in character.

It doesn't really look like a home from the outside, but wait until you get a peak inside...

See what I mean? I do not have any words for those windows!

I love the blue colour of the doors and trim.  Another thing, that I love - spiral, metal staircases!

The size of the home isn't grande, but that workshop is really intriguing me.  I wonder what the homeowner does in there?

Definitely an interesting kitchen.  Love the wall tile.

There's something about an original beadboard ceiling...

The bathroom still has all the original piping. Notice how the patina on the pipes match the blue in the trim??

Just amazing!

I think it just basically comes down to me wanting a house that has history and a story. I would spend hours thinking about how what happened in this very room a hundred years ago and I'm sure the owner found some interesting artifacts from the past when he was renovating.  What a dream!

Are you a converted type of person??

The Hubby Gets An A+

I'm baaaaaack!! How were your holidays?? And Happy New Year!

I had the absolute best two weeks off. It was full of fun and lots of cuddling. And guess what? We took that time to toilet train Keaton and it was so worth it!! Two days of hell has turned into a couple weeks of no more diapers and very few accidents!! Woohoo!!

So this year I got some great gifts, which I will show you in the upcoming weeks, but I wanted to show you what Aidan got me.

It's an iPhone Photo Printer!! I'm always taking photos of Keaton on my phone, but they never get printed. With this, I can print them right away! And the quality is really great.

Nice job Aidan!

If you want one too, you can purchase it here.

Okay, it's back to the grind for me...

Have a great day!
