So I spent Sunday morning at Aberfoyle Antique Market with my friend Robin. It started off great, despite it being 1 degree outside with frost on the ground.
I spotted TONS of stuff I could have taken home.

These lights were massive and would fit in any loft-y space ie. Not my cookie cutter townhouse

Mountains of wooden crates!

Aren't these lights cool? I've never seen anything like them

I'm not a huge fan of horses, but I liked these guys

All the vintage luggage a girl could ask for. Robin had to seriously hold herself back from this booth. She already has 3 suitcases at home and her fiancee would kill her if she bought another one :)

I loved this darling little dresser. The colours were so cute and it had a lot of drawer space.

Antique markets are usually chock full of apothecary bottles, but I've never seen a cabinet full of ones with hand-written labels
I was keeping an eye out for a TV console, but came out empty handed. BUT, I did buy a blanket. I've been really drawn to tribal patterned stuff lately and this blanket really did it for me. Robin actually saw it first, but she could she I was in love and let me have it. It was $10!

And here is where my adventures at the antique market turned bad.
I spotted a huge window pane and knew I had to buy it for my sister.

She is getting married next August and wants to write the table assignments on window panes and then hang them from a tree. This window was so big, you would only need this one pane!
The sticker on the pane said $35, but the seller said he would give it to me for $20 because it was the end of the season. See, I told you there were good deals!
I felt like the best big sister ever until...it wouldn't fit in my car! The seller then proceeded to strap it to the roof, which worked until we got on the road and it was rattling like crazy. So Robin and I pulled over and used whatever we had in the car to make it work. We used reusable bags for padding and raffia to strap it down even more. It seemed secure until...we got on the highway. I was so loud and I just kept picturing it falling off and hitting the car behind us. So, you know what we did? We left it on the side of the highway :(

Here it is, looking all lonely on the side of the road. We were devastated. Thank goodness it only cost $20 though eh?
If anyone has a pick up truck and is going out to the Guelph area sometime soon, could someone pick it up? I will pay you in cookies:)
