I hope you all had a great weekend. It was pretty chilly here, which made for a cold visit to the fair and an uncomfortable outdoor ceremony at the wedding, but we also made plenty of time for cozying up at home and being lazy :)
As you may already know, I have a store crush on Burnett. It's a unique little furniture and art shop at Bathurst and Dupont in Toronto. Cathy, the owner, transforms old furniture pieces into works of art. She is also handy with the sewing machine and makes pillows that she sells at the shop. Gordon, her husband, is an artist and his beautiful pieces are hung on the bare, white walls. I had a little visit at the shop last week and wanted to show you the latest goods.

Have you ever seen a cuter chair?

These are some of the pillows I was talking about. And aren't those tables awesome?

I'm loving this piece, especially the way it was framed

Another cool side table

They always have the best vignettes in the windows. That Asian art piece was done by a friend of Cathy and Gordon's

Besides the furniture, Burnett also sells found decorative pieces, like this striped jug, along with lamps and biels

Another one of Gordon's creations

Now, this piece was in the back, along with other items in the midst of being transformed. I don't know what Cathy's plans for the hutch are, but I couldn't get over the detail and grand scale of the thing!
Seriously, every time I go in there, I have a little hussy fit because I can't bring it all home with me. I love everything! And that doesn't usually happen at one store.
Do you have a favourite store like this?
