And don’t forget to enter my giveaway for a blog header design by House 09. They are the creme de la creme of blog designers! I will announce on the winner on Friday afternoon at 2pm.
Jenny: “I love technology (and secretly an iPad is at the top of my Christmas list), but in almost every decorating project, I still find myself doing hand-drawn renderings. It's fun and easy for me to draw up a room with a pencil and paper and it really gets the creative juices flowing! I love this brass pencil holder from Jayson Home and Garden. What a beautiful and sculptural way to display my color pencils or markers!”
2. Joel Dewberry Napsack in Sunglow Pillow Cover – Etsy Seller Purple Pajamas - $30
Jana: “I love this cushion cover! I would love it for my bed, 2 in a euro size. Or this one. Why is it so hard to choose for yourself?”
Thanks Jen!
Bryn: “"I would love many, many yards of this beautiful fabric from Schumacher. It's not something you see everywhere (a major plus), and the colors are so beautiful in person!"
Jackie: “I've long been enamored with Fornasetti pieces. The quirky, smirky face of the woman he uses in many of his designs is just too fun! While a plate or a pillow can run well into the hundreds, I was pleased to run across a book that only costs $40! So that book is on the top of my wish list this year. And Santa knows I have been a very good girl!”
1. Tory Burch 'Coley' Scuff Slipper – Nordstrom - $128
2. Jennifer Zeuner Necklace - $110
3. Laura Lombardi Stud Earrings - $22
4. Scandi Phone – Digs Show Room - $69
5. Hinge Stitched Crossbody Bag – Nordstrom - $118.90
Thanks Alison!
All I Want For Christmas... is tubes.
Apartment living has its perks, but it's no good for my Christmas wish-list. But what girl wants a practical present? No! We want stupidly impractical shoes, and totally impossible solatubes.
Sola-what? Solatubes. They're glorious devices that direct natural light to any room of your home, without the peril of costly or invasive skylights. A small bubble on the roof pipes sunlight (or Vancouver's greyer derivative) straight into light fixtures throughout your home. In the bathroom, kitchen, wherever. I first saw them on a documentary about KT Tunstall's green home... and I've loved-from-afar ever since. Problem? We live in an apartment. And other people live upstairs.
Can I shove tubing through the living room of total strangers? Maybe at Christmas - the season of perpetual hope? Perhaps not. Since we're flipping our place on a tight budget, it's a love-affair I'm saving for the future."Hey, I tell ya what I'm gonna give *you*, upstairs neighbours. I'm gonna give you to the count of 10, to get your ugly, yellow, no-good keisters out of the way of my solatubes."
And that's my whimsical wish, with love from the Ugly Baby
Thanks Lauren!
