So, if you don’t know this about me already, I’m kind of an artist wannabe. I don’t really have any fine artistic ability, but I feel like I would have thrived in that post-secondary school environment – it’s never too late I guess, which is why going to art school is on my bucket list. In the meantime, however, I can live vicariously through my sister Allie who is currently in her second year at OCAD – the art school in Toronto. I will be showcasing her assignments and the fun artistic ways she decides to present them. Here is this year’s first assignment:
THINK TANK PROJECT #1 (excerpts from her professor’s assignment sheet):
“We all have relationships with our stuff. The things we own and use can seem like extensions of ourselves; expressions of our identity. Who we feel we are finds a place in the things we have. Make a 5 minute work about some aspect of your relationship to your stuff, your particular world of products. Produce in any media of work for film, or video, animated maybe, or not, a graphic novel, a comic strip or a PPT or on your phone,or in materials, or a performance, a soundscape... anything; to create a parallel you, in the design world.”
THIS IS WHAT ALLIE CAME UP WITH (make sure your volume is up…you won’t be disappointed!)
And don’t forget this other stop motion video she created for a project last year - another must see!
So, in conclusion - WHY DIDN'T I GO TO ART SCHOOL?????
Do you like this new feature? Oui or Non?

Oui to the feature :)
Love the shoes and love the music she used. That song - Edward Sharpe's Coming Home - is one of my summer faves. I rarely catch it on satellite radio, but when I do I BLAST it in my car. your sister is really talented...isn't it great to be a big sister?
Oui, oui! The music makes me happy and I love the constantly moving feet and revolving shoes.
What a great project by Allie. Liza introduced me to that song and I think it is beautiful. What a great big sister you are!!
Mais, oui. I love this post idea!
Your sister's video was cool and the music was the perfect touch.
