What an antique adventure this past week has been!

(please do not judge me on the owl before I explain below)

Last weekend I was at our friends’ cottage and I went to the same antique store as this post.  I found this amazing plate that I am going to add to my plate wall collection.  I have never seen such a unique plate – it reminds me of a flower - and it was only $5!  Now, onto my owl friend for $12.  I have been looking for a plastic or ceramic animal to spray paint white and this owl was perfect!! Owls are very hot right now and it reminded me of some of the owls that I have seen here and there.

I will be posting a tutorial for this very soon! And that basket wasn’t from the same that store – my friend Megan was out and about and saw it and bought it for me! What a sweetheart!! I am thinking of spraypainting it and putting it my bathroom for toilet paper rolls or books/magazines.  And last but not least, the piece de resistance:

This gorgeous mirror!! Sorry about the picture quality, but it was the best I could do and it doesn’t even really show how big the mirror is – it’s about 3’ x 1.5’!! Funny story about this find – I was driving to McDonald’s on Monday (I need my fix every so often).  On the way, I drove past the back alleyway of our Salvation Army where the items are dropped off….and I saw this beauty outside.  I immediately thought of my sister’s condo – her and her boyfriend have been looking for a large unique mirror.  I wanted to take a picture right then, but there was a man outside organizing everything and I felt weird, so I decided to go check it out the next day.  Low and behold, I went to SA on my lunch break and it was there!! For $40!! I called my sister and she told me to go for it – if it didn’t work out, I could always keep it!  Needless to say she loves it and we have decided that we are going to spray paint the gold accents – not sure what colour yet.
