It happens to be one of my favourite inspirational rooms and I have blogged about it before when I participated in the What’s Your Style in One Picture Challenge. I feel like I didn’t give the designer any credit back then, so here goes. Summer Thornton heads up Summer Thornton Design, an interior decorating and design firm in Chicago. Her work is fun and fresh and I also think she is a pretty cool chick! In college, she studied both art and business and spent most of her time in a studio creating beautiful works of art with clay – multi-talented! Her designs combine a mix of old and new, lots of colours and prints and a young hip style. I basically love everything she does! Here are some of her other creations:

Love that first space with the chandelier and the panel of yellow floral wallpaper!
Two of my favourite designers are Jamie Drake and Amanda Nisbet -- I love how they use colour :-) And Kathleen Hay, because she incorporates beautiful architectural detail into her designs.
I hadn't heard of Summer Thornton before reading your post. I like the colour and pattern that she used in the first living room, and how she mixes old with new.

i love the 1st photo! i love the scale of the framed wallpaper over the sofa. i've been thinking about doing something similar in my living room but using a stencil instead of wallpaper - something that peeked my interest from Janell over at Isabella and Max rooms! :)
