Artist of the Day - Lucky Jackson

My mom, for my birthday, bought me this beautiful fabric and embroidery art, at the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition.
It's my first large piece of art and I love it, created by the amazing local artist Lucky Jackson.  I was so drawn to her booth at the show - lots of unique embroidered canvases and hoops, all using vintage fabric and interesting images.  I immediately saw "It's All About Us" and I couldn't go home without it.  I probably could have taken home about a dozen of her other pieces too.  When I go to these shows, I always collect everyone's card and then come home and check out their websites.  Lucky Jackson's Etsy page drew me in just like her booth!  The homepage reads "I think that good art can reflect the pursuit of happiness.  I am inspired by things that make me smile and chuckle and hope that my art brings a smile and chuckle to those who see it.  Be lucky and happy." Don't you just love that??  She has an abundance of original art, whether it be painting, embroidery, fabric work, mixed media and prints.  Here are some of the other goodies from Happy Jackson:
 1, 2, 3,

You like??

And did you notice my new way of hanging things? Stay tuned for a future post!

It's really pretty, Shannon. I love the mix of the masculine tape and the pretty and feminine floral pattern.
