Why Not Keep Summer Around...For Less

I am depressed that the summer is nearing its end.  I am a total summer girl - love the sun, love the heat, love swimming, love everything about it! But the inevitable is going to happen and I am just going to have to accept it.  Fall is just around the corner.  But, there is a way to keep summer in the house all year round!

I have been noticing a lot of "beach/pool" photography in people's spaces and I LOVE the look.

These pieces of art could cost you hundreds of dollars, if not thousands.  I know the first two images show photography by Slim Aarons (thanks to Staci!) and would cost $3000 for a 20"x24".  Yikes!

If you are looking for getting these looks for less, there are a few places you can look:
1. 20x200 - A great source for cheap art! All are limited editions and can be bought at $20, $50 and so on, depending on the size.
Don't you just want to be at that beach??

2. Etsy - As usual, they have amazing and affordable options
I searched "pool photography" and "beach photography" and found these photos:
Alicia Bock - $35
Depuis - $45 and comes framed!

Any of these options would look amazing anywhere in your house, at any time of the year, but I am thinking of ordering some for my bathroom.  Cute eh?

Are you guys mourning the loss of summer? Or are you falling for fall (pardon the pun!)

I haven't left a comment in FOREVER (and I really should because this weekend I'm making mingmakescupcakes Guiness cupcakes for a friend, thanks to you!), but I love these ideas for finding affordable art! Thanks, Shan.

I'm dying for the Fall. I'm a summer and fall girl... love both! I could totally live somewhere that bounces strictly between summer and fall. I could do without winter and spring... for real ;)

I'm with you Shannon, I'm such a summer girl too! I think it's because our summers always feel so short, I need to enjoy and soak up as much as I can!!

I've been noticing tons of beachy pics too and love the idea of looking at one come those cold winter days!

Happy weekend to you!
:) Christine

such a summer girl. although, as the crisp air is flowing through my kitchen windows tonight as i browse your blog (instead of getting to work), i must admit i love fall also. nothing beats wearing a sundress and getting a tan though. by the way, i bought a tufted alabaster velour chair tonight and thought of you. it's the one piece of furniture that won't be a hand-me-down in my condo and i'm very excited. i got an emerald green throw to drape over the back.

can't bear the thought of not wearing my flip flops...although it is kind of fun to dig up the shoe boxes and re-discover my winter collection! :)

Ah Slim, great work, but yes very expensive in comparison to the other beach shots!
I am all about summer relaxing, but fall weather... So I'm torn really.
I love how summers feel so easy breezy and it's so easy to take off for a weekend here and there.
Fall however, feels like it's time to get back to work {I guess that may go back to school days?} and take life more seriously.
But I do love the fall for it's nice comfortable temps and the changing leaves!
I've got british genes, so I don't tan very well, so I tend to spend a lot of my summer in the shade!
{Thanks for swinging by, and I hope you are having a lovely weekend!}

I am definitely mourning the summer :( Boo to the winter (although I love the weather and fashion that comes along with autumn...just wish it lasted longer!).

I love the last piece of art that you posted here... the one titled "Depuis - $45 and comes framed". I love the specific focus on the foreground and the rest of the image just seems to 'melt away' out of focus. Really eye-catching. Would love to use it in a colorful beach house or even in an enclosed porch area/solarium. Love the colours so much.

Thanks for sharing, Shannon! I love knowing that I'll always enjoy reading your latest post...no disappointments.

Hi Shannon,

What great photos! How very strange that I live so near the ocean and haven't been to the beach in forever...gone are the days when I could sport a cute bathing suit :0

Much love,
Susan
