(via House and Home)
I have always loved this room. I believe I first saw it in Domino: The Book of Decorating (I would suggest buying this book right away if you don't have it already) and I was smitten. I think it's the unlikely mix of colours - yellow, robin egg blue and pea green that really grabs my attention. Not to mention the gorgeous art on the walls, that chandelier, the fireplace vignette and that amazing chaise smack dab in the middle of the room. This room is going to be a little tough to replicate from Craigslist, but here goes (and I'm changing the look of how I do things on these Craigslist posts, so I hope you like it!):
Okay, here is the rundown:
1. Chaise - $1000 - Pricey, I know, but it is the showstopper in the room. It's not the same colour as the pic, but it's leather and has the tufting. If you budget allowed, you could reupholster it
2. Chair -$135 - This chair is basically the same as the ones in the picture - paint it black and reupholster in crisp white! The listing only has one, but there are always chairs like this popping up on Craigslist
3. Mantle - $120 - Paint this mantle white and and it would look great!
4. Mirror - $50 - The mirror in the picture is a statement mirror and so is this one! This large gold-gilded mirror would fit perfectly on the mantle
5. Frames (both) - $50 and $30 - These frames are a little bit more elaborate than the ones in the picture, but I couldn't resist! You could intersperse some more simple frames on the wall as well for a more balanced look.
6. Chandelier - $300 - Along with the chaise, the chandelier is another showstopper and this one from Craigslist does not disappoint. Isn't it gorgeous and unique??
7. Small Chair - $1 - For $1 you can't go wrong. Buy a cushion and put it on top
8. Coffee Table - $125 - Not exactly like the one in the picture, but I like this one better anyways!
Update: Thanks to Kelly at Design Ties for suggesting this format! I need Photoshop though because my Paint skills are seriously lacking!

I love these posts Shannon - I can only imagine how much time it takes to find the pieces. The chair you found is identical and the other pieces would really help to create the look and feel of the original room. I like the new layout!
Your Craigslist posts are always fun to read :-)
I like the new layout, and I have one suggestion. If you number each Craigslist item and then list them by number, it would be easier to follow which description goes with which piece. And if you wanted to take it one step further -- because I'm sure you have the time for even more work ;-) -- you could number the items in the original picture as well to make the cross-referencing even easier!!

Oh my goodness temptation everywhere!! I love the frames you've choosen I'd definitely go for them! :-)
xx
yes to craigslist! no to the items looking WAY different in person than online. :)
can't wait to see everything together!
Your Craigslist posts are amazing Shannon! Love them, and I like the new layout, very professional! And... $1 for a chair... OMG!
I'm so happy I followed a link and found your blog. What a great idea for post! And I adore the room.
I loooove that room from the Domino book too! Great finds (as usual)!
I love that room so much! I love your finds too. Craigslist is amazing!
Love all your finds... I have never even looked at Craigslist!
Oh my, I LOVE this! I love the blue and the yellow. I would love for my living room to look just like this!
It took me ages to spot the pea green in the room.... was far too smitten with the walls. (And love the new layout -- pour the wine while you order Photoshop, it takes a little bit of the sting out).
Love this post. My husband and I get almost all of our furniture from Craigslist. We moved to Hawaii 2 years ago and they need some serious help with their craigslist. I am going crazy. I love your ideas. Good luck!
Baaah!! That's my all time fave room from Domino! I based my entire bedroom off that color scheme and still refer back to it. love it love it love it.
I really do love these posts, you are showing people the awesomeness of upcycling and saving a little but keeping it stylish!
Do you by any chance know where the actual chaise is from??
I love it!
