Before I sign off for the weekend, I just want to share with you a quick little DIY project I did for my sister, Allie. She is going into her 2nd year at OCAD in Toronto and decided to bite the bullet and move downtown, closer to school. This will be her first time living on her own (well she has two roommates, but without her family) and needless to say we will all miss her dearly! I wanted to make something nice for her new place, so I thought a flower mirror would be perfect. Now let me just start by saying that Allie is a hippy, flower child - she has peace signs all over her room and if she could have one car, it would be one of those VW vans, painted in flowers. I had an old mirror hanging around, so I bought some fake flowers at the Dollar Store - 14 bunches for $14 and went to work separating the flowers from the stems. Next, I glueguned the flowers to the mirror and PRESTO! A brand new mirror that totally suits my sister's laid back, hippy style...and it only took an hour!
What do you think?? If I ever had a girl, I would definitely consider doing this again for her room. I love how it turned out! Once Allie and her roommates are all settled in, I want to go and do a house tour because they are a house of artists and I just know they are going to have some cool decor ideas.
And with that, I am signing off. I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend. We will be attending our 5th and last wedding of the summer. I'm happy the wedding season is over, but I'm sad it's the last weekend of August. Enjoy the nice warm weather while it lasts!

Oh wow, this is really cute. I did one of these a long long long time ago. I gave it as a present for one of my really vain friends. I used pink feathers and some sparkly gems and beads for the lining. =)
