Boston Bound!

I am super pumped because I am heading to Beantown with my parents, sisters and brother on the first weekend of October.  This trip will be without husband and baby, which will be tough, but I can't hide my excitement of visiting a city I've never been to before.  Well, double that excitement because the reason we are going is, my Mom was awarded the Boston Globe Horn Book Award for her children's book I Know Here!  And we all get to come along for the festivities!  The awards ceremony is Friday night, but other than that, I have no obligations! Which means - shopping, shopping and more shopping!!

I need some help from my readers on some good places to go for home decor stuff.  Anyone know of good flea markets, antique shops, consignment stores?

How about some good restaurants??

Needless to say, I will be bringing my camera and documenting any good places I find so you will know where to go if you ever go to Boston in the future!

I am so, so, so excited for you! I absolutely love Boston! I just sent a little "What to do email" to a friend who went last month - if you're into seafood... I can send it along as well. I have more tidbits than I could put into a blog comment... let me know if you want me to email you some fun places to eat and see! :)

Actually - here's on thing I came across today that I totally want to do the next time we go back to see B's family... a Boston Chocolate tour! Was posted on Beantown Baker's blog today!

That is so cool! I've only been to Boston once, for a conference, and so I didn't have time to enjoy the city. I'll look forward to hearing about your adventures!

Congrats to your mom! I've always had a great time in Boston.

Had a great steak at Grill 23 and also enjoyed Sorellina and Galleria Umberto (good pizza). There was also another great North End restaurant we went to but I can't remember the name for the life of me.

I don't eat cannoli personally but everyone kept saying Mike's Pastry has great ones.

Hope you have a great trip!
